"Faro"
La Paloma Light House, it was builded in 1874 after many accidents in the area.
You can visit on saturdays, sundays and hollidays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
La Paloma is an interesting small town located in "Rocha" Department (State), 240 km from Montevideo.

Romantic Museum (Museo Romantico)
Did I mention that museums are free in Montevideo?
This one is an extravagant merchant’s residence built in 1830, filled with opulent Montevideo's 19th century furniture, clothing and personal effects (ladies fans, perfume bottles, travel vanity, etc.) of the city’s old elite. It gives the visitor a good view of how the well to do lived in Montevideo.

Last Friday night, was the "Museos en la Noche" night, where lots of Museums were open until midnight, also there were lots of performances in the streets.

Teatro Solis
In August of 1856 the "Solis Theatre" opened its doors for the first time with an opera by Verdi Ernani. In 1998, due to a fire, it closed its doors and the restoration process begun, lasting 10 years. In october 2008 it reopened with a grand inauguration. Today you can visit with guided tours or to enjoy a variety of shows.
Juan Díaz de Solís was the Capitan of the Spanish navy and one of the first explorers to enter the Río de la Plata estuary in South America.
