Salvo Palace

From here you can see the "Plaza de la Independencia" and the "Palacio Salvo"
In the 20's, the Salvo brothers wanted a hotel, they hired an italian architect named "Mario Palanti", the construction started in 1922. At the end, it was not a hotel but apartments.
Some people say that once, "La Giralda" (a "confiteria") was located at the land where the "palace" was built, in there, the famus tango "La Cumparsita" was wrote by Gerardo Hernán Matos Rodríguez.
